"What do the group numbers mean?"
After registration closes, competitors are placed into groups within their divisions. These groups are simply how we divide competitors by age. For example, "White Belt / 70-80 / Group 1" might include competitors born in 2005, while "White Belt / 70-80 / Group 5" might include competitors born in 2009. Groups may include competitors within one birth year of each other.
"How are competitors weighed in?"
Competitors can weigh in as early as 9:00AM, regardless of their division start time. Competitors must be weighed in and at the bullpen, ready for their division to be called, at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start times. All weigh ins are done without the gi, however, competitors MAY NOT weigh in wearing only their underwear. Adequate clothing/covering is required to weigh in.
